Introducing the Gain Team

Ian Jefferies

Ian qualified as a chartered accountant in 1990 with Price Waterhouse where he was appointed training tutor, lecturing to accountancy students from Birmingham University and Price Waterhouse staff. Extensive experience working with clients of all sizes from Blue Chip corporates to one person businesses Ian became a finance director with Barclays Bank before moving to Cornwall in 2000 to run a hotel with his wife and set up his own accountancy business.

Ian established Gain in January 2012 to focus on ambitious, success driven clients, working with them to grow and develop opportunities particularly during the current challenging economic climate. Spare time is spent doing anything to do with cars and has been an active competitor racing Brisca F2 stockcars. Watches rugby (knee injury stopped play!) and his wife says he enjoys DIY and mowing the lawns.

 

Nicole Pearson


Joined Gain in January 2012. A qualified ACCA  she has worked extensively in small business finance environments. She freely admits to loving working with numbers and enjoys helping clients de-mystify their accounts. She moved to Cornwall from The Lake District in 2011 and is gradually losing her Northern accent! In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit by going to the gym, running, zumba and previously kick boxing! Never afraid to have a go at more unusual fitness classes, Nicole has also tried Bokwa and Pole Dancing and more recently has taken up Kettle Bell fitness classes.

Louise Jefferies

Louise

Graduated from Bath University in 1987. Has worked in customer focused hospitality and retail environments for many years and most recently been improving productivity and profitability in pharmacy shops throughout Cornwall. She was awarded the Day Lewis Professional Service Pharmacist of the Year in 2010 and now works with Gain on a consultancy basis, assisting in getting the most out of teams and improving the customer experience. Spare time is spent with her husband and 3 daughters (when they are home) and chocolate Labrador. She enjoys reading, going on holidays (where there is no rain) and hates participating in any form of sport.

 

 

Vanessa King

VanessaVanessa relocated from Hertfordshire to Cornwall with her husband Daniel in 2011 and lives in Porthtowan. her career has seen her working in finance departments within companies, putting to good use her organisational and accounting experience. Vanessa works with our clients on their accounts, management accounts and bookkeeping. In her spare time Vanessa enjoys the great outdoors, particularly trail running, mountain biking and walking the cliff paths around Porthtowan, which having recently welcomed a new puppy into the house  - a Hungarian Vizsla called Woody – is a good thing. Within the next 2 months Vanessa hopes to receive the results of her final AAT module which, upon passing, will see her become a fully qualified Accounts Technician.
